Testimonials

“My Twelve year old daughter and I booked a day with Val in Ticknall, which involved us taking photographic evidence to questions. Not only did we find out information about this pretty village but the activity gave purpose and meaning to our photographs. It also gave us the opportunity to practice some of the techniques that Val had demonstrated and patiently showed us throughout the morning. After a lovely lunch we decided on our own subject and refined the skills from the morning session. Throughout the day Val was very patient, encouraging and thought provoking…we now look at our surroundings a little differently, a five minute walk now takes thirty minutes, if we have the camera!”  Nicola

“I have had an absolutely wonderful day in the company of Valerie. From her very helpful communications before the walk and being incredibly accommodating, going out of her way to collect me. Her experienced creative eye for what makes a beautiful captivating image and her ability to impart that knowledge along with lots of other tips, advice and direction. She listened carefully to my interests and experiences and tailored the day to suit me, giving me the opportunity to explore ways I could develop these interests. She has an incredibly warm empathic approach and is a delight to spend time with. Her own work is stunning and very inspiring and she is so generous not only with her knowledge and skills but also with her time and energy. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her workshops most highly.” Sally

Current Programme

My visual and observational sessions are intended to offer a more mindful approach, giving you time to relax and enjoy your surroundings, while encouraging you to become a little more creative with your photography.

The emphasis will be on what catches your eye, as I encourage you to develop a new way of seeing the world around you, rather than your technical skills, which can take as much time and practice to learn as knowing how your camera (phone) works. A basic knowledge of your camera (phone) is required.

You will receive many hints and tips on camera (phone) technique throughout the day, along with plenty of suggestions to help you creatively.

Please get in touch via my contacts page if you’re interested in working with me.

Please note…

I’m very pleased to be offering Creative and Visual Workshops/Coaching here in the Peak District, and while the health and safety of all participants is always important to me, where any travel is involved, the wearing of a face mask in the vehicle will be optional.
